The fourth chakra, Anahata, is located in the heart/chest and stretches out through the arms (Think about an embracing hug). The fourth chakra is centered around your right to love and be loved. It’s foundations are built during your early childhood and revolve around you forming friendships and familial relationships.
When Anahata is out of balance you might see:
Excess
Codependency
Excessive sacrificing
Demanding
Clinging
Jealousy
Deficient
Anti-social/withdrawn/lonely
Depression
Fear of intimacy/relationships
Lack of empathy
Narcissism
The fourth chakra can be particularly hard to balance when going through infertility. The demon of the Anahata chakra is grief, and the trauma of loss can compound any issues surrounding love for others and love for oneself.
So how can we cultivate self-love while still shielding our heart from past, current, and future losses? Check back next week on some practices to help you stay balanced through the choppy waters of infertility.
